U.S. official cites progress in Chrysler talks (Reuters)

Reuters - There has been some progress in U.S. government-driven negotiations to save Chrysler LLC, according to a senior White House official, who on Sunday also did not rule out an attempt to complete the company’s restructuring in bankruptcy.

Mexico Races to Stop Deadly Flu

By BETSY MCKAY and DAVID LUHNOW Health officials said Saturday there were no new confirmed cases of a deadly flu virus, but warned that the disease is widespread and intensified their search to discover its true potential. Mexican health authorities said the death toll from the new strain of A/H1N1 swine flu remains at 20, and they are continuing to investigate whether more than 1,000 others were infected with the mysterious bug, which attacked in three geographically diverse areas of the country and is taking its heaviest toll in young adults. The Irishman and the ‘plot’ to kill the Bolivian President

His bloody, bullet-riddled body, naked except for his underwear, was found on the floor of a hotel room in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Police say Michael Dwyer, a 24-year-old Irishman, was a ruthless assassin hatching a plot to murder the Bolivian President, Evo Morales. His family say the allegations are “absolutely ridiculous” and the Irish government is demanding an investigation into his death alongside a Balkan war veteran and a Hungarian nationalist. Mr Dwyer’s mother, Caroline, describes her son as “fun-loving, always good-natured, generous, always thinking of us”.
